    NARRATIVE:

    Dr. Creer is Professor of Pathology, Director, Clinical Laboratories, Medical Co-Director of Hematopathology, Pathology Residency Training Program Director and Chief of the Clinical Pathology Division. Dr. Creer completed his training as a resident in Laboratory Medicine and fellow in the Cardiology Division at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He is the former Director of St. Louis University Coagulation Consultants which is a coagulation reference laboratory that provides clinical consultation and specialized laboratory testing for the diagnosis and management of bleeding and thrombotic disorders. Dr. Creer’s basic research interests are in the field of thrombin receptor signal transduction in endothelial cells and platelets. He is also actively involved in collaborative research in stem cell and myeloma biology with investigators at the Penn State Hershey Cancer Center and has over 70 publications in the areas of thrombin signalling and phospholipid metabolism, stem cell biology and laboratory analysis of hematologic and coagulation disorders. He is actively involved in translational research in the areas of myeloma diagnosis and hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell collection and processing and the application of automated hematology technology for product characterization and engraftment analysis following cord blood, growth-factor mobilized peripheral blood and bone marrow transplantation.
