Associate Dean for Research Innovation
Dr. Marmer received his Masters and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science and University of the Sciences, respectively and received his Masters in Business Administration from University of the Sciences.
Dr. Keith Marmer is the Associate Dean for Research Innovation at Penn State College of Medicine. He joined the College of Medicine in March 2011. Dr. Marmer leads efforts for the identification and development of intellectual property at Penn State Hershey and is responsible for the Office of Technology Development at the College of Medicine, where he manages the entrepreneurial efforts of the vibrant Penn State Hershey biomedical community. Dr. Marmer brings both academic and entrepreneurial expertise to this role.
Prior to joining Penn State, Dr. Marmer served as Vice President for Business Development and Technology Transfer at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia where he successfully led a number of entrepreneurial efforts, including the acquisition of an educational services company, and oversaw the intellectual property portfolio. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Marmer was founder and CEO of PhysioMetrics, a national healthcare technology and services firm that performs specialized functional evaluations. Under his leadership, PhysioMetrics successfully raised multiple rounds of investment funding, was awarded People's Choice for Outstanding Company at the New Jersey Technology Council Venture Capital Conference and received three patents. Dr. Marmer has successfully launched a total of five companies. In addition, he has mentored and consulted to a number of other entrepreneurial ventures as well as taught entrepreneurship to both undergraduate and graduate students.
