EDUCATION:

1979 B.A., Columbia College, Columbia University
1980 M.A., Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Columbia University
1982 M.Phil., Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Columbia University

1984-1989 Postdoctoral Training, University of California, San Francisco

NARRATIVE:

Responsible Conduct of Research training and education is an important part of becoming a scientist in today's environment. Recent evidence [Acad Med. 2010 Mar; 85(3):519-26] suggests that the standard approach of lecture followed by case discussion does not improve ethical decision making by biomedical students. I am interested to determine if Team Based Learning provides a better outcome to the ethical decision making ability of our students.
